Restoration and Renovation in Umbria

Restoring in Umbria

Umbria is rapidly becoming known for it’s fine wine and food and has become more and more popular with foreign buyers who are looking to enjoy all Italy has to offer. Umbria is blessed with rich architecture ranging from ancient palaces to 16th century farmhouses to historical properties in medieval centers.

Umbrian architecture is unique and in Umbria we have a team that consists of Bi-lingual Architects, project managers and master restorers. We have several groups of reliable contractors and Italian artisans that are skilled in all aspects of rebuilding and conservation as well as complete restoration and renovation and have a deep appreciation for Umbria’s architecture and style.

We also provide comprehensive management and coordination for restoration, renovation and home improvement projects. Acting as an extension of the owner, we monitor and help coordinate the work of all members of the project team. After the restoration or renovation process begins, our project managers will monitor and control all the works, financials and other aspects of the building process. There are daily visits to the site and compiled up- to- date detailed photographic reports on how the work is proceeding. The progress reports up to date designs, photographs, permit status and costs.

ORGANIZATION &PLANNING & COST
Restoration and Reconstruction in Umbria

The general rule of thumb when considering a renovation/reconstruction project is to estimate between 750 Euro a square meter to 1000 Euro a square meter. Many things will influence the price of a reconstruction or renovation. The quality of the materials will have a large effect on the overall price. Handmade terracotta tiles are considerably more expensive then manufactured ones and chestnut beams or more expensive than pine.

The age of the building can yield unforeseen surprises. It is not uncommon to open a wall to allow for a door or arch of a historical building and discover a 200 kilogram stone.
Location also plays a factor in your renovation/restoration costs. Many of these structures are located down narrow and winding "white roads" that make the passage of larger trucks difficult.

We currently have several projects underway in Todi , Orvieto, Terni, Fano and other areas and would be glad to provide site visits.
