La
Torricella is a beautiful example of a characteristic
Umbrian stone farmhouse that still preserves its original
ancient tower.
The house stands on top of a hill among three acres
of olive trees, less than a 10 minute drive from the
center of Todi.
The
owner is an architect who personally directed the
restoration. He has carefully designed the dwelling
tocomfortably accommodate many people in spacious
areas, many with private terraces. While carefully
maintaining traditionaltraits such as wood beamed
ceilings and terracotta floors he creatively combined
one exceptional modern feature: a glass enclosed porch
that runs all the way across the front of the residence.
The wide porch houses the dining area and a comfy
conversation area with fireplace. The views of Todi
and the surrounding countryside from here are superb.
Adjacent
to the dining area is an elegant living room, also
with fireplace. Nearby is the country style kitchen,
fully-equipped with a dishwasher and microwave oven.
It is furnished with a custom made marble table, and
has an ample private terrace perfect for enjoying
breakfast outside.
Separate laundry facilities.
On
the floor above there are three queen bedrooms each
with en-suite bath with showers. Two of these rooms
have double French doors leading to private terraces.
The
tower incoporates two bedrooms: one queen and one
twin. These rooms share a bath with shower.
The
house has been decorated with care and the fine furnishings
make this a truly handsome country dwelling.
The
extensive garden and hilltop position of the pool
allows for magnificent views of the medieval city.
